Call for Evidence-APPG Investigation into the Integration of Smallholder Farmers into Supply Chains
[News]
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Food and Agriculture for Development (APPG) now invites written submissions to its latest Investigation into the Integration of Smallholder Farmers into Supply Chains.
Following on from the January 2012 publication of the APPG’s second Inquiry entitled Growing Out of Poverty the APPG is now launching its third investigation. Aimed at examining a single significant theme that emerged from our previous Inquiry the new study will seek to explore the optimal conditions for engaging and integrating African smallholder farmers, including those smallholders engaged in livestock production, aquaculture and forestry management, in supply chains by examining previous successes and failures as well as the needs and expectations on both sides.
The study will culminate in a short pragmatic final paper identifying the optimal circumstances for the successful integration of smallholder farmers into supply chains; describing current best practice in all stakeholder groups and; outlining the key steps required to introduce and, ultimately, scale up such success stories.
Deadline for Submissions Midday Friday 10th February 2012.
The detailed Call is available here.
