MEPs pressure Commission for better meat origin labelling

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) strongly oppose the European Commission (EC) on the meat origin labeling of ready meals. On Thursday 10 October, they have sent a open letter to Health Commissioner Tonio Borg asking the Commission to impose better meat origin on lasagnas and other types of frozen dishes, eight months after the horsemeat scandal. Yet the European Comission position remains unclear.
