Foresight at GCARD2: when stakeholders get together
[News]

Stakeholder participation is central for reforming agricultural research for development. It is central for improved foresight, too.
What does it mean in practice? See below what happened during the GCARD2 foresight sessions:
- 60% of the Chairs and Facilitators were either from Farmer Organization (FOs), NGOs/CSOs, donor organizations or governments;
- FOs/NGOs provided 7 of the 11 foresight panelists
- In three of the five parallel foresight sessions donors and government, FOs, NGOs and CSOs, International organizations directly engaged in collective reflections about what they would be willing to undertake to improved foresight in the next two years.

Next steps
GCARD 2 was a milestone in a process towards improved foresight. The work ahead through the Global Forum and its Global Foresight Hub is to provide the best opportunities to all constituencies to put into practice their willingness to engage together in foresight.
