An opportunity for you to provide innovative and outcome-oriented scientific research, using your expertise to improve water management in irrigation systems nationally and internationally.
Specifically you will:
- Undertake irrigation related research on water use and water saving technologies and management in irrigation regions across Australia
- Enhance CSIRO's culture of scientific publication in irrigation research.
- Acquire external research funds for projects aligned with the strategy of CSIRO's Research Flagship.
Location: Griffith, NSW, Australia
Salary: $89k to $120k

Tenure: Indefinite
To be successful you will have:
- A PhD related to irrigation/hydrological science or related research
- Expertise in irrigation systems research
- Research experience with a range of field scale irrigation methods, systems and management for water efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Ability to liaise closely with stakeholders and clients, to develop trust with key decision-makers in research funding and capacity building in irrigation science or engineering.
- A strong record of gaining external funding.
- Ability to work effectively in teams with scientists and technicians as well as independently.
- Willingness to work, live and travel in irrigation areas within Australia and overseas.
