GCARD3 (2015-2016)
In GCARD3, the Consortium and GFAR have designed a two year consultation process (2015-2016) that builds on demand for research by a broad range of users. The GCARD3 consultation includes dialogue on development of the Integrated Investment Facility for Agricultural Innovation.
In addition, GCARD3 will be a forum for accountability of the CGIAR Strategy and Results Framework and renewal of the CGIAR Research Program portfolio. The consultations will include a GCARD 2016 milestone event (tentatively planned for the beginning of 2016) with further information on this event to be posted in the near future.
Depending on the results of consultations in 2015, the GCARD event, and the plans for the full proposals for new CGIAR Research Programs, consultation will continue in 2016 linked with the development of the CGIAR Research Programs second call for full proposals.

Invitation to Submit an Expression of Interest for Hosting the GCARD3 Global Event
The Organizing Committee for the Global Conference for Agricultural Research and Development (GCARD) is inviting Expressions of Interest from countries in sub-Saharan Africa wishing to host the GCARD3 Global event.
GCARD3 is a wide consultation process over the course of 2015 and 2016. The GCARD3 global event is a milestone in this process and is to take place in the first quarter of 2016. The GCARD3 global event will be directly representative of the wider consultation process. All participants and their organizations recognize the generosity of the host country and afford it special recognition for its contribution to facilitating the development of GCARD.
The Organizing Committee is welcoming Expressions of Interest from government representatives from Ministries of Agriculture in the countries of sub-Saharan Africa that have active programs in agriculture, agricultural research and development and are committed to advancing agriculture in its country and region.
Countries are invited to submit their Expression of Interest in the form of a formal letter with supporting documentation by 17 July 2015.
