Multimedia web based publication on Food Sovereignty - from IIED

GFAR stakeholders may be interested in the latest chapter of a multimedia book on food sovereignty which is now available on line. This latest chapter focuses on the role of local organisations in sustaining food systems, livelihoods and environment.

GFAR stakeholders may be interested in the latest chapter of a multimedia book on food sovereignty which is now available on line. This latest chapter focuses on the role of local organisations in sustaining food systems, livelihoods and environment - see: http://www.iied.org/pubs/pdfs/G02374.pdf

It includes,  in the form of video clips, audio recordings, songs, text and photos, several examples of how indigenous and local communities adaptively manage landscapes, regulate access to resources and food, deal with processes of change (including climate change) and engage in the politics of decision making. Examples come from pretty much every part of the planet and from many diverse cultural settings.

The book, "Towards Food Sovereignty. Reclaiming autonomous food systems", is still in the making. You can access other chapters as well as see the overall structure of the book here

The next chapter to go up on IIED's web site is on 'Transforming knowledge and ways of knowing' - again a mix of text, video clips, photos, audio recordings including music & songs.
