2nd call for proposals for GCP’s Genotyping Support Service—Deadline extended and guide provided
Please note the new deadline is now 30th September 2008. The information package now also includes a useful step-by-step guide for proposal submission.

Genomics and comparative genomics: New learning module
The module is a collaboration project between Cornell University's Institute for Genomic Diversity and GCP, and is designed to be used either as basic material for a class setting, or as a self-tutorial. It targets scientists and advanced students with a strong background in biology and genetics. The principal audience includes plant breeders, molecular biologists and other plant scientists on the fringe of—but not fully engaged in—genomics research.

MAB module: McClintock Crop Bioinformatics course
A new module on marker-assisted backcrossing (MAB) module has been added in the McClintock Crop Bioinformatics course.

New data templates now available
GCP's Subprogramme 4 has launched new data templates. Participants at this year’s GCP Annual Research Meeting will benefit from an on-site helpdesk on how to use the templates.

Update on the Project Development Guide: new governance structure
The Project Development Guide (PDG) has been updated to reflect the new governance structure reported in GCP News No 31 of 12th June 2008.

Our annual report for 2007 is now available in electronic and hard copy.

Workshop on reference sets of food crop germplasm for international collaboration
Dates: November 13–17, 2008.
Convenors: GCP’s Subprogrammes 1 and 5
Venue: Montpellier, France
This workshop will examine the various stages in accessing the genetic diversity of crop germplasm collections.
