Principal Scientist/Global Leader, Knowledge Sharing and Innovation (KSI) at ICRISAT
ICRISAT invites applications for a Principal Scientist/Global Leader, Knowledge Sharing and Innovation (KSI), to help develop the Institute’s global strategy for knowledge sharing and innovation. The position will be based at its Headquarters in Patancheru, near Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, with a global responsibility for all research programs based in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities
• Help in developing the Institute’s global strategy for knowledge sharing and innovation and lead its implementation;
• Establish, lead, and conduct an effective research program in ICT4D relevant to the Institute’s Mission;
• Coordinate the development of platforms to make institutional knowledge available internally, and to all partners and stakeholders;
• Support the Institute’s effort to build new partnerships for enhanced knowledge sharing impacts and establish an effective and efficient infrastructure for modern research informatics and database archiving and use;
• Develop an E-print repository and Open Access Publication System;
• Provide training and capacity building, and user support, in knowledge sharing;
• Develop on-line learning training programs, including educational materials platform to support post-secondary extension learning;
• Develop and test new communication tools adapted to our various stakeholders;
• Support and enhance use of ICT for farmers’ access to information and knowledge.
Desired Candidate’s Profile
• Professional qualification at Doctorate or Master’s level in information and communication technology, knowledge management or relevant discipline
• Demonstrated experience (of at least 5 years of post-qualification) in knowledge sharing, ICT4D or related area with ability to lead a group of professionals
• Experience at the international level is highly desirable
• High level of maturity, judgment, and people management skills, including team working/building skills
• Managerial capability to work in a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary environment with effective interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in oral and written English is essential, and knowledge of French will be desirable
The Reward
This is an internationally recruited staff position with an attractive and competitive salary and benefits package payable in US dollars. The position is initially for three years and extendable depending on performance of the incumbent and funding availability.
