Call for Proposals for the second ACP-EU Energy Facility

A call for project proposals for the second ACP-EU Energy Facility has been opened on the 9th October 2013. The theme of the call for proposals is energy and fragility. "Fragile states” is the term used for countries facing particularly severe development challenges: weak institutional capacity, poor governance, and political instability causing a reduced resilience to shocks such as economic crisis and natural hazards. Often these countries experience on-going violence as the residue of past severe conflict. Fragile states have acute energy needs that often require different approaches than those applied in other countries.
