Opening Access to CGIAR Research and Knowledge: From Data, Information and Collaboration to Food
From September 12 to October 3 the ICT-KM Program of the CGIAR will be seeking input on priority areas, users and needs, and on obstacles and methodologies.
If a tree grows in a lab, will the poor eat its fruits?
The ICT-KM Program of the CGIAR promotes and supports the use of information and communications technology (ICT) and knowledge management (KM) to improve the effectiveness of the CGIAR System's work on behalf of the poor in developing countries. The Program led a process to develop a strategy entitled: "Global Public Goods (GPGs): From Data and Information to Food" with the objective of making it easier for CGIAR staff, partners and potential partners to access, use and add value through collaboration to the research and to the scientific outputs of the CGIAR. Last December at the GFAR triennial conference we sought inputs on the strategy indirectly during the workshop that we organized. The Program is now directly seeking inputs to and validation of this strategy through a facilitated discussion on the www.e-agriculture.org platform, providing participants with the opportunity to influence future directions.
From September 12 to October 3 we will be seeking input on priority areas, users and needs, and on obstacles and methodologies. Our discussions will only take a few minutes of your time a couple of times a week as you read messages via email or the web and respond on the e-agriculture website.
Visit www.e-agriculture.org for more information on the strategy and the online dialogue and to register to participate.
Let us hear from you!
