The Global Forum is unique in bringing together all those concerned about the future of agriculture and the role it plays for the poor. Basically, because we’re a network of organizations linking science and society, you and all your colleagues are the Global Forum. This means that the more you contribute to the Forum (by posting your latest news and advances on this site, for example) the more you will benefit form the Forum network. We want to showcase your work, tell the world what you are doing, and put you in touch with partners who can help you to achieve your goals. Examples of the stakeholders that make up and contribute to the Global Forum include:

• Farmers and Farmer Associations (as we aim to put communities at the centre of agricultural research);
• Civil Society (and all those who wish to provide a voice for the disadvantaged);
• National Agricultural Research & Extension Agencies (working to put in place systems that will meet the needs of the poor);
• The Private Sector (who can help to ensure access to markets, and effective and responsible delivery of inputs);
• International Research Centres (who need to be effectively connected to their intended beneficiaries);
• Fundamental Research Institutions (who need to ensure that upstream research is driven by an understanding of the real needs of the poor);
• Donor Organizations (so that their funding recognises and fulfils the demands of the poor).
