Foresight Exchange Workshop Report

On Sunday October 16, 2011, more than 30 people gathered in Beijing to take part in a Foresight Exchange Workshop (FEW), one day before and at the same venue of the CGIAR Science Forum 2011 (SF 2011). This workshop was convened under the auspices of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research for Development (GFAR). It received support from several regional or international organisations.

This one-day workshop was intended to bring the opportunity for thinking forward about the nexus between agriculture and environment, the core topic of the SF 2011. As such, it was conceived as part of the Forward Thinking Platform, one of the three inter-connected components of the Global Foresight Hub. The Global Foresight Hub is an open and inclusive mechanism within the GFAR for improving foresight and its role in shaping research and innovation systems to better address the needs of those they are intended to serve.
