What could research do for the futures of family farming?
At the International Encounters on “Family Farming and Research” organized in Montpellier, June 1 to 3 by Agropolis International, GFAR, WRF, CGIAR and the support of the French  Government, Robin Bourgeois, GFAR Secretariat’s Senior Foresight Adviser presented a thought-provoking reflection on  “What research could do for the futures of family farming”. His three key messages are:
 
1) the future of family farmers is open
2) family farmers and scientists do not operate in similar world orders, and
3) working for family farmers requires a change of perspective about the values guiding research
